I am an experienced police officer with over 23 years of service, progressing from frontline policing to senior leadership roles. I have a proven track record in operational command, community engagement, and strategic oversight. Skilled in managing dynamic and critical incidents, leading response teams, and delivering proactive investigations targeting high-harm offenders. As a Locality Inspector, I have successfully built strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to address community issues and protect the most vulnerable. I am a Nationally accredited Initial Tactical Firearms Commander (ITFC) and Tactical Firearms Commander (TFC), bringing specialist operational expertise to complex and high-risk situations. Experienced in strategic support through secondments with Chief Superintendents in CSIM and CPC departments, providing insight into organizational priorities and performance. I am Committed to delivering effective policing solutions that balance enforcement, prevention, and safeguarding. I work with very capable dedicated officers and thoroughly enjoy my current role as Halesworth Locality Inspector.
I have been serving with Suffolk Constabulary since 2012, when I began my policing career as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) within the former Safer Neighbourhood Teams, joining as a regular Constable in 2016.
Since then, I have gained extensive experience across a variety of policing roles, including frontline response policing, youth offending, and partnership teams, developing a broad understanding of the challenges facing our communities and the importance of collaborative problem-solving.
Following my promotion to Sergeant, I was posted to Halesworth, where I joined the neighbourhood policing team. I am proud to be part of the Community Policing Team and thoroughly enjoy the challenges and opportunities the role presents. I remain committed to building strong relationships with local communities and partners, and I look forward to continuing to develop within the role while making a positive difference across the area.
I joined Suffolk Constabulary in 2003 as a Response Officer based in Stowmarket. After several years in frontline policing, I became a Beat Officer within one of the area's first Safer Neighbourhood Teams. During this time, I also served as the liaison officer for Wattisham Airbase, working closely with the Ministry of Defence Police and the Royal Military Police. A particular highlight of the role was occasionally getting the opportunity to see the Apache helicopters up close.
In 2010, I became a certified Search Officer and have since conducted searches across Suffolk, working alongside partner organisations including Lowland Rescue and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service. In 2013, I further developed my specialist skills by qualifying as a Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Officer.
I later joined the East Policing Area as a Response Officer in Lowestoft, a role I thoroughly enjoyed. In 2018, I became one of the original nine Community Engagement Officers covering the eastern area, including Lowestoft, Beccles and Bungay. This role marked a revitalisation of community policing, allowing me to build strong relationships within local communities and develop an active social media presence for Lowestoft and Halesworth Police to help improve public engagement. During this period, I was also proud to feature in Suffolk Constabulary recruitment campaigns.
Alongside my community engagement work, I led the Lowestoft Police Cadets as Senior Cadet Leader, supporting and inspiring young people interested in policing and public service.
In 2023, I transferred to Halesworth Police Station and joined the Community Policing Team, initially covering Halesworth and Southwold. I now serve as the Community Beat Officer for Framlingham, Yoxford and the surrounding villages, where I continue to focus on community engagement, problem-solving and building strong local partnerships.
I have been a member of Suffolk police for 20 years working initially in Woodbridge and moving to work in Saxmundham in 2007. I have worked in the community policing in the wider area for 18 years.
