Your community policing team
I am the Locality Inspector for Forest Heath District. I have 18 years-service in two Police forces. I have worked in various front line roles including response and community policing, the Custody Suite and the Police control room. It is a pleasure to lead the Community Policing Team in Forest Heath and support them in enhancing our engagement with the community and oversee the ongoing problem solve for Policing issues identified within the District
I joined Suffolk Constabulary in 2005. I started my career working in Forest Heath as a front-line officer, across Newmarket, Mildenhall and Brandon. Despite working various Pc and Sgt roles/departments with the Police in different areas across Suffolk, I have often returned to work the Newmarket area, it’s a community of people and businesses I feel passionate in serving. I returned to Newmarket in 2024 as part of the Community Policing Team and am proud to work alongside an accomplished team of proactive officers driven to deliver the best service possible to the community of Newmarket and Exning.
I have worked for Suffolk Constabulary for 5 years mainly on a response investigation team within Busy St Edmunds for 1.5 years and Forest Heath areas for 4 years. I am currently on the Newmarket Community Policing Team covering Newmarket and Exning.
I joined Suffolk Constabulary is 2016 after 5 years as a Special Constable. I have spent most my career on the Response Investigation Team in Bury St Edmunds. I am currently part of the Newmarket Community Policing Team concentrating mainly on the high street and retail areas.
I joined Suffolk Constabulary as a Special Constable in 2018 and transitioned to the Regulars in 2019. My first beats were covering Ipswich, Hadleigh and the surrounding rural villages. In 2022, I moved to Forest Heath and worked on the Neighbourhood Response Team before joining the Newmarket Community Policing Team in June 2024.
I have worked for Suffolk Constabulary for 20 years having joined Newmarket Special Constabulary in 2005 whilst still working full time in The Horseracing Industry as a groom. In 2006 I made the leap to the regulars and have spent all but 6 months of my career in Forest Heath in a front-line role. I enjoy covering Newmarket and Exning and the diversity that the part brings, especially still being link between the police and horseracing industry
I am the local Police Community Support Officer for the Forest Heath area, mainly working in and around the Brandon area. I have been in this role for the last 19 years. I am very passionate about problem solving along with working and engaging in the community. I am very well known in the area and will continue to do my best offering my support to anyone that needs it.
I joined Suffolk Constabulary in 2005 as one of the first PCSOs to be based in West Suffolk, Since then I have worked on Community Policing in Mildenhall, Stowmarket and Newmarket. I am currently based in Newmarket on the Community Policing Team covering the Forest Heath Area.

Target those supplying drugs in our communities and protecting those vulnerable to associated exploitation

You said We did: We continue to use intelligence to develop opportunities for stop searches and search warrants. Since September 2024 we’ve made over 50 arrests for drug supply in Forest Heath as part of an initiative called Clear, Hold, Build. 23 of these individuals have been imprisoned and sentenced to a total of 59.5 years. A further 7 offenders were given suspended prison sentences.
In Brandon & Lakenheath last month we executed three search warrants which resulted in the seizure of a large amount of heroin and cash.
In Newmarket, Lakenheath and Brandon we have also visited and supported those at risk of being exploited in their own homes by drug dealers. Officers also regularly conduct schools’ inputs to educate students on the risk of drugs and associated exploitation, and we sit on a Multi-Agency Exploitation Monthly every month where individual cases of exploitation are discussed. -

Focus on reducing acquisitive theft offences such as burglaries, theft from motor vehicles and theft of motor vehicles by catching those responsible.

You said We did: Officers regularly undertake patrols during their late and night shifts in areas effected by recent crime. Officers have undertaken extra house to house around locations affected giving crime prevention advice and issuing Smartwater packs for their property to be marked.
Recent results include 2 juvenile males arrested for a series of motorcycle thefts in Mildenhall, and an adult male was also recently arrested and imprisoned for a series of dwelling burglaries in Mildenhall, Beck Row, Newmarket and surrounding villages. -

Tackle retail crime, violent crime and ASB in new Safer Town Hotspot

You said We did: Response Officers adhere to a patrol plan to police nighttime economy on Friday and Saturday nights in order to reduce violent crime, disorder and ASB.
Beat Officers regularly conduct ‘pop-up’ engagements in different locations affected by ASB and our design out crime officers supports vulnerable premises or locations.
Our response officers are also tasked with patrolling areas which have recently been affected by ASB. In recent months this has included Red Lodge Sports Pavilion and Brandon and Newmarket Town Centre.
Through a monthly multi-agency ASB meeting those at the highest risk from ASB are identified and protected using a range of tools and powers available. Officers regularly liaise with and deliver inputs with local schools to help prevent students from becoming involved with ASB. In partnership with West Suffolk Council and Trading Standards, three closure orders were also obtained on Vape Shops under Anti-Social Behaviour legislation due to them selling illegal tobacco and vapes.
