Target those supplying drugs in our communities and protecting those vulnerable to associated exploitation
Issued 01 October 2026
You said We did: We continue to use intelligence, stop searches and search warrants to tackle this issue. We work closely with Partners to support those at risk of being exploited in their own homes by drug dealers. Officers also regularly conduct schools’ inputs to educate students on the risk of drugs and associated exploitation, and we sit on a Multi-Agency Exploitation Monthly every month where individual cases of exploitation are discussed. Recently we have also issued Child Abduction Warning Notices to adults that pose a risk to children.

Tackle retail crime, violent crime and ASB
Issued 01 October 2026
You said We did: Increased patrols take place on Friday and Saturday nights around the busier pubs and clubs to tackle and reduce violent crime.
Beat Officers regularly conduct ‘pop-up’ engagements in different locations affected by ASB and our ‘design out crime officers’ support vulnerable premises or locations.
Our officers are also tasked with patrolling areas which have recently been affected by ASB. Through a monthly multi-agency ASB meeting those at the highest risk from ASB are identified and protected using a range of tools and powers available.
Officers regularly liaise with and deliver inputs with local schools to help prevent students from becoming involved with ASB and knife crime. In partnership with West Suffolk Council and Trading Standards, closure orders are utilised on shops selling illegal items such as counterfeit tobacco and vapes under Anti-Social Behaviour legislation.

Suffolk Connected Priority
YOU SAID, WE DID
Forest Heath residents told us via surveys on the Suffolk Connected messaging platform that the issues concerning them the most are: Speeding & Road Safety, Fly Tipping & Lack of Crime Prevention
Issued 01 October 2026
Speeding & Road Safety
Our speed enforcement team regularly enforce speeding in the local area. The results of which can be found on our website by searching ‘speeding’. Our Beat officers also deploy with a speed gun sometimes and our PCSO’s support the Community Speedwatch Schemes. Suffolk County Council Highways can support Town and Parish Councils with speed reduction measures on our roads.
Fly Tipping
This is managed by West Suffolk Council. You can the Council to have rubbish removed if on public land. The Council website has some helpful advice for landowners on how to protect their land.
Lack of Crime Prevention
Beat Officers regularly conduct engagements during which they provide crime prevention advice. Victims of crime can liaise direct with the officer in their case to request advice and support. You can also find some excellent online resource in particular the First Principle Crime Prevention Library on the Suffolk Police Website.
