Inspector Ben Hollands has served as a Police Officer for 26 years, gaining extensive experience across a range of roles and ranks at local, regional, and national levels. He currently holds the position of Locality Inspector for Bury St Edmunds, where he leads and manages Community Policing within the area. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing neighbourhood policing teams, building strong partnerships with local stakeholders, and ensuring that policing strategies are responsive to the needs of the community. His work focuses on promoting public safety, reducing crime, and fostering trust between the police and the public.
Sgt Nettleton is one of the Community Policing Team Sgts for Bury St Edmunds, covering Abbeygate, Westgate, Southgate, Minden, Moreton Hall and Eastgate Wards and the villages within Bury Rural South.
PC Emma Macduff is the Community Police Officer for Bury Rural South.
PCSO Pooley covers Minden, Westgate, Southgate, Abbeygate, Eastgate and Moreton Hall along with the villages in Bury Rural South.

Police have issued an individual a Community Protection Notice to an individual following continued reports of Anti-Social Behaviour. We continue to work with our partners and the community in an attempt to resolve this issue. We will conduct targeted patrols and now seek to prosecute any breaches of this Community Protection Notice

Reducing retail crime. Retain crime remains both a local and national priority.

Bury Community Team have a dedicated retail crime SPOC. The Community Team will visit every victim of retail crime, provide support and guidance in respect to crime prevention and support with digital upload of CCTV. In the months of May and June the community team have had a 60% solvability rate where a positive disposal, such as: charge, conditional caution or community resolution have been administered. We continue to work with partners and local businesses to ensure Bury St Edmunds continues to thrive for local businesses.
