about

Our service is one that puts people and community at the heart of everything we do. It’s one that keeps people safe, puts victims first, protects people from serious harm, strives to provide high quality investigations and prevents crime and anti-social behaviour.

We will work and problem solve with local partners.

We understand, to build trust and confidence, it is crucial for officers to be where they are needed and when people need them the most.

Our approach is shaped by our vision to make Suffolk a safer place to live, work, travel and invest. Our officers and staff will deliver this vision with courage, professionalism, compassion and a strong sense of community.

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Target those supplying drugs in our communities and protecting those vulnerable to associated exploitation

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

You said We did: We continue to use intelligence, stop searches and search warrants to tackle this issue. We work closely with Partners to support those at risk of being exploited in their own homes by drug dealers. Officers also regularly conduct schools’ inputs to educate students on the risk of drugs and associated exploitation, and we sit on a Multi-Agency Exploitation Monthly every month where individual cases of exploitation are discussed. Recently we have also issued Child Abduction Warning Notices to adults that pose a risk to children

    Actioned 01 September 2026

  • Priority:

Focus on reducing acquisitive crime including burglary and vehicle crime

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

You said We did: Officers regularly undertake patrols during their late and night shifts in areas effected by recent crime. Officers have undertaken extra house to house around locations affected giving crime prevention advice and issuing Smartwater packs for their property to be marked. We are also trying to increase our partnership working within the business and farming community.

    Actioned 01 September 2026

  • Priority:

Tackle retail crime, violent crime and ASB

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

You said We did: Increased patrols take place on Friday and Saturday nights around the busier pubs and clubs to tackle and reduce violent crime.
Beat Officers regularly conduct ‘pop-up’ engagements in different locations affected by ASB and our ‘design out crime officers’ support vulnerable premises or locations.
Our officers are also tasked with patrolling areas which have recently been affected by ASB. Through a monthly multi-agency ASB meeting those at the highest risk from ASB are identified and protected using a range of tools and powers available.
Officers regularly liaise with and deliver inputs with local schools to help prevent students from becoming involved with ASB and knife crime. In partnership with West Suffolk Council and Trading Standards, closure orders are utilised on shops selling illegal items such as counterfeit tobacco and vapes under Anti-Social Behaviour legislation.

    Actioned 01 September 2026
