If a crime is happening, please call 999 now.
If it isn't an emergency please call 101 or report it online.
If you need to get in touch with the police and it’s not an emergency, you can save time and do it online with #ClickBeforeYouCall.
Suffolk Constabulary’s #ClickBeforeYouCall campaign encourages members of the public to consider using alternative methods to contact the force.
Suffolk’s Contact and Control Room (CCR) receives high volumes of calls particularly at weekends and during holiday periods. These particularly busy periods can inevitably mean there is an impact on waiting times.
Instead of waiting on the phone, you can report non-urgent crime online. The matter will then be dealt with in the same way as a call to 101. Reporting online allows you the opportunity to write down everything you want to tell us at a time that is convenient for you. It also reduces pressure on the control room and enables them to prioritise more urgent calls and support the more vulnerable members of our community.
Examples of what you can report online include:
Going online also comes with the added benefit of links to resources, and information, like what happens after making a report. Our website also has contact information for local teams, specific departments within the constabulary, and partnership agencies that may be able to offer you specific support.
