Police have worked with the organisers of the UK Itjtima, which took place in Shrubland Hall, Suffolk this weekend, to facilitate the bringing of the event to a close slightly earlier than previously planned, after receiving information about a possible threat made towards the event.
Officers worked alongside the local authority and organisers of the event to facilitate the safe exit of all those attending the event today (Sunday).
A police spokesperson said: "We understand this may cause concern to those who attended the event, however we'd like to reassure everyone that the decision to end the event early was taken with event organisers as a precaution and there is no wider threat to the public. A full investigation into the nature of the threat is now underway."
