A 20-year-old man has been charged after an incident at a funfair in Haverhill.
Police were called at just after 6.10pm on Friday 2 May, to reports that a boy had sustained stab wounds on the Recreation Ground off Camps Road.
The suspect of the stabbing is then alleged to have been assaulted himself, sustaining a kick to the head.
The victim of the stabbing, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.
Two people – aged 20 and 22 - were subsequently arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Following police enquiries into the incident, there was a further allegation that a 12-year-old boy had been punched prior to the stabbing.
Sheldon Parrinello, aged 20, of First Avenue, Sudbury, has subsequently been charged with the following four offences:
Parrinello has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday 5 May.
A 22-year-old man from Haverhill – who was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm - has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

Two people were subsequently arrested as follows: a 20-year-old man on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; and a 22-year-old man on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Both men have been taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre, where they currently remain for questioning.
