A man who died following a two-vehicle collision on the A14 near Stowmarket last month has been named by police, as his family issue a tribute to him.
Police were called at just after 11.40pm on Thursday 20 February, to reports of a collision involving a car and an HGV vehicle on the westbound carriageway of the A14 between Stowmarket and Haughley.
A black Ford C-Max car was in collision with a Volvo Skip Loader vehicle, parked in a layby.
Ambulance, a paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) and fire crews were also in attendance but the driver of the car was sadly declared deceased at the scene.
Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has been identified as John Vincent, aged 61, from Ipswich.
Mr Vincent’s family have asked us to issue the following tribute on their behalf:
“To a loving father, brother and grandad who will be sorely missed for all the joy and laughter you brought into everybody's lives.
“You will be missed greatly by all who knew you. Rest in peace you will never be forgotten.
“We love you.
“RIP John William Vincent.”
Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: 37/9754/25.
