A man has been charged with drugs offences following the execution of two warrants in Ipswich.
Yesterday, Thursday 20 March, proactive officers from the East and West Serious Crime Disruption Team worked with officers from the South Scorpion and South Sentinel teams to execute two warrants at addresses in Ipswich.
During searches of the addresses, in Belstead Avenue and Wilberforce Street, a large quantity of class A and class B drugs were seized along with a large amount of cash.
A 24-year-old man was arrested in Belstead Avenue on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, possession of counterfeit currency and profiting or concealing knowledge of the proceeds of crime. He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Benjamin Tigges, 24 of Belstead Avenue, Ipswich was subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis and being concerned in the supply of heroin, cocaine and cannabis.
He appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today 21 March and was remanded to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on 22 April.
A 23-year-old woman from Ipswich was arrested at Wilberforce Street on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of Class B or Class C drugs and taken to Martlesham PIC. She was subsequently bailed to return to police on 12 May.
