A 37 year old man from Lowestoft has been jailed for four months for failing to comply with a community protection notice.
Carl Horth of no fixed abode was given the jail sentence by Norwich Magistrates Court on Friday 24 Jan.
He had previously received a suspended sentence previously for aggressive begging.
A CPN is aimed at stopping someone committing anti-social behaviour which spoils the community's quality of life.
The CPN stated he must not approach members of public and beg/ask for money, goods or property of any kind from them, in any public area or area that the public has access to, anywhere. This includes but is not limited to any licensed premises, railway station, public transport or car park. He must also not act in any way to cause any person in any public place or place that the public have access, to feel harassed, alarmed or distressed by your actions in anyway or act in anyway.
PC 140 Dale Parker said: “Local officers from the Community Policing Team are continuing work with partners to address this issue in the hope of securing a Community Behaviour Order to give us additional powers. Horth is widely known in the Lowestoft area and we are conscious of the distress he can cause people.”
