A significant amount of uncut cocaine has been seized and three men charged with drugs offences, after police stopped a car in Ipswich last week.
At just after 3.30pm on Wednesday 26 March, officers from the Sentinel South Team had cause to stop a vehicle on Norwich Road.
Following a search of the car and its two occupants, officers seized 12 bags of cocaine and the pair were arrested.
As a result of these arrests, officers subsequently searched a property in Tacket Street, Ipswich. Further drugs were found at this location, including a large amount of uncut cocaine; 75 bags of cocaine; and a quantity of suspected cannabis.
Two additional men were arrested at the address in Tacket Street and all four suspects were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, three of which were charged as follows:
All three appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Friday 28 March, where Ahmadaj and Kurit were remanded in custody and Lea was granted bail, all pending a next hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday 25 April.
The fourth suspect – a 36-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs; and permitting a premises to be used for the supply of drugs – was released on bail until Monday 2 June, pending further enquiries.
