A 34 year old man from near Bury St Edmunds has been jailed for drug offences and other offences.
Daniel Easlea (pictured below) and of Watson's Way in Barrow near Bury St Edmunds was jailed at Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday 17 April to 45 months in jail.
It follows his guilty plea to the offences of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and MDMA, possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knuckleduster, and money laundering.
This was a joint investigation between the Serious Crime Disruption Team and CID and followed a Section 23 Misuse of drugs act warrant executed where two mobile phones, cash, scales and Class A drugs were located. Under the hood of the barbeque in the rear garden was an ice cream tub which contained a zip-seal bag containing rocks of MDMA (Class A drugs).
A search of the garage/office of the address found a large quantity of empty snap seal bags, snap seal bags containing class A drugs, digital scales, containing traces of cocaine and a plastic bag containing a large amount of cocaine located in an empty paint tin.
Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkins of the Serious Crime Disruption Team said: “This was great teamwork between the Serious Crime Disruption Team and CID officers. This outcome should serve as a reminder to any drug dealers considering Suffolk for their criminal business, it will be only a matter of time before the inevitable happens and we arrest, charge and convict you.
"Drug dealing has a hugely detrimental impact on our local communities and can have devastating effects on people’s lives. Suffolk Constabulary remains committed to tackling and dismantling all of those involved in drug supply.”
The SCDT core aim is to disrupt serious and organised gangs whose criminal activity focuses on issues such as drug supply and harmful personal acquisitive crime such as robbery/burglary. The team develop the relevant information and intelligence, conduct enforcement activity, and then provide an officer who will build the case and see the investigation through to trial.
If you suspect drug dealing is taking place or you are concerned that a young person or vulnerable adult may have been targeted by an organised crime group, please tell us. You don’t have to be certain, just concerned.
