Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Walsham le Willows last week.
Officers were called at just after 10.30am on Friday 13 September to reports of a two-vehicle collision in Wattisfield Road, involving a silver Kia Soul and a silver Land Rover Discovery.
One of the parties involved – a man aged in his 80s – was taken to hospital having sustained serious injuries and he currently remains there for treatment.
A man aged in his 50s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and causing serious injury by careless driving, but was later de-arrested after requiring a check-up at hospital and will be formally interviewed under caution in due course.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads and Armed Policing Team at Bury St Edmunds Police Station, quoting reference: 37/52257/24.
