A man who died following a two vehicle road traffic collision in Beccles in August is being named by police, as his family and friends issue a tribute to him.
Officers were called to the junction of the A145 and Cucumber Lane in Beccles at around 3.30pm on Monday 12 August to a report of a two vehicle RTC involving a white Ford transit van and a black Yamaha motorcycle.
Sadly, as a result of the collision, the male rider of the motorcycle, died from injuries he sustained. Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, he has been named as 58 year old Stephen McKie of Ditchingham.
The family and friends of Mr McKie have asked us to issue the following tribute on their behalf:
Nikita Mr McKie’s daughter:
A loving dad to Nikita & Father In Law to Jamie. A passion that dad had throughout his life was motorbiking, he loved his motorbikes. We take comfort knowing that although he left us too soon it was while doing something he loved.
Leon & Evan - step sons:
A loving stepdad to Leon & Evan he was a true gentleman. So many memories made and shared, gone but never forgotten. There are no words to express what you meant to me, and for being the Dad that you didn't have to be, a beautiful person with a wonderful heart and I miss you so much especially your dinner time farts. We may not have been related by blood but you were the best stepdad, I could have had.
Nigel: Friend
A dear friend. Whether you knew des for 2 years or for 30 years I think we all agree that he was the kindest, funniest most wonderful human being ever and we all agree that our lives are much better for having him as our friend RIP Des xxx
Eddie: Friend
Would just like to say a few words for the best person anyone could meet in a lifetime. I always knew him as Stevie he had several names, also known as Des to many people around the Bungay area. There is a story as to why he was called Des but won't go into that right now, as everything in his life has a story as I would need a book to write them. There was only 1 Stevie in the world and any body that ever met him will know he was the kindness, friendliest man with a wicked personality that only Stevie had. He will be missed by so many and can never be replaced ever. There will always be a void in my life without him, Stevie I miss our riding adventures keep riding mate one day I will catch you up. Love and miss you loads and always will.
Dorothy Mckie (Mum):
