Ipswich man convicted of stalking

A man from Ipswich has been convicted of stalking and making threats to kill.

Piotr Krzeslak, aged 40 and of no fixed abode but from the Ipswich area was convicted at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday 12 November. He was accused of stalking the victim between January 13 to January 17 this year.

Krzeslak approached the lone female whilst she was walking to work in January 2024 and made sexual remarks to her and threatening to kill her.  He also loitered outside her home address and outside her place of work. He was arrested and charged in early February this year.

The jury found him guilty of carrying out the acts. The victim remained supported by the investigating officer throughout the investigation.

DC Natalie Cole of Ipswich CID said: “Stalking is a serious and distressing crime which can escalate. I would like to commend the bravery of the victim who came forward to report their experience and hope this sentence will encourage other victims of stalking to report it. Be assured that we take stalking very seriously and urge you come and talk to us or a third party support group if you have concerns, as we can help.”
