Two men have been arrested following an incident in which a man was assaulted in Ipswich.
On Friday 22 November, officers were called at around 7pm to reports of an incident in Woodbridge Road.
It is believed that the victim, a man in his 20s, arrived at a property in Woodbridge Road and was approached by a small group of men. The victim sustained a stab wound injury and was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
Following the incidents, two males, a 23- year-old and a 28-year-old, were arrested in Ipswich on Friday 22 November on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. They have since been bailed until 31 January 2025.
Police believe the parties involved are known to each other and as such, there is no wider threat to the local community.
Superintendent Andrew Martin said: “Suffolk Police is relentless in its proactive approach to serious violence and will continue this in its robust response to this appalling incident.
“Ipswich has made exceptional progress in recent years seeing a continued reduction in these crime types and we must not lose sight of that, but our work isn’t over and it remains vital that we, our partners and our communities maintain this momentum.”
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information. Equally officers would like to speak to anyone who has CCTV or a doorbell camera or who may have been driving in the area at the time and has relevant dash-camera footage.
