Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision in Sutton today.
Police were called at 4:33am this morning, Saturday 9 March to reports of a single vehicle collision on Heath Road, Sutton involving a Seat Ibiza car.
Ambulance, fire crews and paramedics from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS), were also in attendance,
The car contained four occupants, three men and one woman. One of the male passengers in the vehicle sustained potentially life-changing injuries. The male driver, and the two other passengers, a man and a woman were also injured. All four were taken to hospital.
A 23 year-old-man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving, driving whilst unfit through drink and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was initially taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment and has since been released and is currently at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
The road was closed for several hours earlier but has since reopened.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage.
