Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a series of keyless car thefts in Ipswich in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 28 March.
The first incident took place on Medway Road, Ipswich. The incident occurred around 3.45am today in which a red Mercedes AMG was stolen from a driveway. Footage captured two people in the area at around 2.10am.
The second incident also took place in Medway Road, Ipswich at around 3.45am today.
Two unknown suspects, both male with their features obscured, gained entry to a white Mercedes AMG on a driveway before driving off with the stolen vehicle.
The third incident took place on Severn Road, Ipswich, at around 4.10am today. CCTV in the area captured sight of a person near the area around this time. CCTV then captured the stolen vehicle, a black Mercedes AMG, leaving the driveway at around 4.15am.
Officers believe the three incidents may be linked and are asking anyone that may have witnessed the incident, has relevant CCTV or video-doorbell footage, or anyone with a dash-camera that was driving in the area, to contact police, quoting the below crime numbers:
Red Mercedes AMG - 37/17143/24
White Mercedes AMG – 37/17126/24
Black Mercedes AMG – 37/17161/24
PC Donna Jackson added: “We urge people to ensure they keep their vehicles locked. If your vehicle has an electronic key do not keep it near your front door or windows as criminals can scan it and transmit the code to open the car and start it.
“We also recommend using a Faraday Pouch or and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) blocker to block the signal whilst your keys are indoors if you are able to.”
