Two men have been jailed after pleading guilty to drug dealing in Ipswich.
Ermal Dragjoshi, 21, and Klajdi Kordhaku, 20, both of Vernon Street, Ipswich, were sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court on 16 July after both had pleaded guilty at a previous hearing to possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, cannabis, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, and acquiring criminal property.
Dragioshi received an eight-month prison sentence, while Kordhaku received a seven-month custodial sentence, to be served at a young offenders’ institute.
Dragioshi was arrested on 17 April when he was stopped and searched by officers from the South Sentinel team along Riverside Road in Ipswich, with 14 pouches of cannabis located.
Enquiries following Dragioshi’s arrest led to the arrest of Kordhaku as he left a property in Vernon Street in the town. Following a search, cannabis was found on Kordhaku, while a large amount of cannabis and cash was located in a room that Kordhaku was staying in within the property.
Officers also found a large amount of drugs and cash in another room within the property that Dragioshi had the keys to.
Both were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre and were subsequently charged.
The arrest and investigation was led by the Sentinel team. The three Sentinel teams across the south, west and eastern areas of the county provide enhanced coverage of Suffolk’s road network to proactively disrupt serious and organised criminal activity as well as increase police visibility.
The mobile unit disrupts criminals and protects communities across Suffolk’s road network using a variety of techniques to deal with offenders involved.
