A Mildenhall man has been jailed for 22 weeks for breaching the terms of his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Jamie Hunter, aged 49 and of no fixed address but from the Mildenhall area, had been given a suspended sentence for breaching the terms of his CBO on 19 December 2023.
The two-year application had been granted at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on 23 March 2023, which prevented him from being drunk in a public place following repeated incidents of drunk and disorderly conduct and anti-social behaviour.
Hunter subsequently breached the order and was taken back before magistrates on 28 July, 27 November and 19 December 2023.
On Thursday 18 January 2024 Hunter was arrested in Market Cross in Mildenhall on suspicion of breaching his CBO. He was subsequently charged and remanded in custody for court.
He appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on 19 January 2024 where he admitted being in breach of his CBO and his suspended sentence was activated.
He was sentenced to a total of 22 weeks’ imprisonment and ordered to pay costs totalling £299.
PC Ollie Smith from the Forest Heath Community Policing Team said: "It is disappointing that Hunter has breached his order for the fourth time. Criminal Behaviour Orders give us the opportunity to support offenders while preventing further offences being committed.
“Our hope is that during his sentence, Hunter receives the support he needs.”
