Police have charged a man with drugs offences in Stowmarket.
Officers from the Sentinel West ANPR team had cause to stop a vehicle containing two males on Union Street West, Stowmarket on Thursday 18 January. A search of the vehicle took place under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act, while the driver was also searched.
Following the searches, police located items suspected to be Class A drugs worth £2,500 and over £950 in cash.
Both men were arrested and were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Daniel Leka, 20, of no fixed abode was subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and was remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 19 January.
The other man, 25, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries to return to police on 18 March 2024.
