Police are highlighting the value of public information being sent to them after a cannabis factory was located in Lowestoft.
Following intelligence received from a member of the public, officers conducted a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at a property on Norwich Road in the town.
Inside the property officers discovered five grow rooms with over 100 plants which were recovered.
Enquiries into the find which was made on Tuesday 9 January continue and anyone who knows who is responsible or has seen any suspicious activity at the property in recent days should contact Lowestoft police, quoting crime number 37/1586/24.
Officers would urge local residents to be vigilant to suspicious activity and anyone with information about drug-related activity in their community should contact Suffolk police.
The signs to spot for a cannabis factory include a strong or sickly sweet smell in the air; buildings with windows constantly blocked off; high levels of heat and condensation and the constant buzz of ventilation. Such operations would most likely have people coming and going from an address at unsociable hours too.
Members of the public who have concerns or information regarding the production or sale of illegal drugs in their community, should contact their local policing team. Details can be found on the force’s website: http://www.suffolk.police.uk/your-area
