Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision near Barnby.
Officers were called to the A146 just after 12.35pm on Monday 8 January following reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a white Vauxhall Crossland and a grey Volkswagen Sharan.
The ambulance service were also in attendance to the scene.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a man aged in his 30s, two passengers, a woman aged in her 30s and a man aged in his 30s, all sustained injuries.
They were assessed by paramedics at the scene where their injuries were described as not life-threatening or life changing.
The male driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving or attempting to drive a mechanically propelled vehicle whilst unfit to drive through drink or drugs.
He was taken to hospital for a check-up and whilst there, a sample of his blood was taken for analysis and he was then de-arrested. Enquiries continue pending the outcome of the blood test.
Since attending hospital, the female passenger and male driver’s injuries have been confirmed as serious but not life threatening, and they been transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital for further care.
The male passenger of the Vauxhall and the driver of the Volkswagen, a woman in her 50s, sustained minor injuries.
The road was closed to allow for recovery of the vehicles involved and reopened by just after 3.35pm on the same day (8 January).
Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision and are also asking any motorists driving in the area at the time with a dashcam in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
