A Lowestoft man has begun a jail term after admitting dangerous driving and assaulting a police officer.
Kye Jacobs, 25, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court on 26 November.
He was jailed for three months for driving at an officer trying to arrest him for failing to appear in court in a Tesco store car park in Hollingsworth Road, Lowestoft on 31 May. The officer had to jump to safety to avoid being hit by Jacobs’ car.
Jacobs was also sentenced to 16 months for the dangerous driving charge.
His sentence was tied in with other admitted drugs and criminal damage offences which means his jail term totals 26 months.
Jacobs was disqualified from driving for a total of 33 months and must also pay a victim surcharge of £190.
