Police are currently at the scene of two incidents in Pinewood, Ipswich.
Officers were called to Admiral Road just before 4:55pm today, Saturday 7 December, to reports of a suspected aggravated burglary in which a woman sustained stab wounds.
It is reported that the woman was upstairs at her home address when she heard a noise and went to investigate at which point she discovered an unknown male within the premises.
He then fled the scene via the recreation ground.
On police arrival, a member of public approached officers to report he had been victim of an attempted robbery in Ellenbrook Park a short time prior, where an unknown male approached him and attempted to steal his phone and wallet before running off. He was reportedly carrying a knife.
Police are in the early stages of the investigation and, at this time, believe the incidents are linked.
The woman, who is aged in her 40s, has been taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The man is not believed to have been seriously injured.
Officers are currently conducting enquiries to locate the suspect and are asking for anyone with information to come forward. Local residents are being asked to review their CCTV footage and to contact police with anything that may assist with their enquiries.
The suspect was wearing dark clothing and wore a face covering, possibly a scarf, over his mouth.
