Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Ipswich.
It took place shortly before 12:15am today, Sunday 18 August, near the Waterfront on Helena Road.
Two men were involved in an altercation, which started first inside A Listers at Aurora Bar and moved to outside the premises.
One of the men, aged in his 30s, was reportedly pinned against a grey BMW car (which was parked outside) by the suspect and struck with a glass bottle to the side of the head. He sustained serious head and facial injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A third person, a man, sustained injuries to his hand when he attempted to intervene and stop the incident.
The suspect is believed to have left the scene on foot in the direction of the university.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or anyone with information that may assist detectives with their enquiries.
