Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision in Ipswich.
Officers were called to Duke Street by the East of England Ambulance Service at approximately 5:10pm yesterday, Thursday 8 August, following reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a black Volkswagen Polo and a Honda 125 scooter.
Police, ambulance and air ambulance were all in attendance to the scene.
The rider of the scooter, a woman aged in her 50s, sustained serious injuries which have been described as potentially life changing.
She was initially taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment, before being transported to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where she remains.
The road was closed between Pownall Road and Holywells Road as emergency services attended to the incident. All restrictions were lifted by 8:10pm.
Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision and are also asking any motorists driving in the area at the time with a dashcam in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
