Police have arrested a man in connection with an incident where Daryl Taylor absconded from police officers.
Daryl Taylor, 33, of no-fixed-abode but from the Ipswich area, absconded from police officers whilst under arrest on Sunday 11 August.
A police operation took place in Rendlesham shortly before 7pm Wednesday 14 August, where he was arrested by officers from Suffolk Constabulary’s Police Support Unit.
He appeared at Ipswich Magistrates Court today (Friday 16 August) where he was remanded to appear at Ipswich Crown Court for a further court hearing on 13 September 2024.
A male was arrested in Ipswich on Thursday 15 August on suspicion of assisting an offender. He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation for questioning and released under investigation. He was also released under investigation for two other offences – theft of a motor vehicle and being concerned in the supply of drugs. He was also remanded on suspicion for failing to appear before court. Two other men were arrested alongside Taylor on Wednesday on suspicion of assisting an offender on Wednesday have since been released under investigation.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and in particular any suspicious activity relating to vehicles or have dash cam footage between 9.45pm and 10.15pm in the Heath Road area of Ipswich on Sunday 11 August to come forward. They should quote reference: 37/45508/24.

A man who was wanted after escaping from officers in Ipswich has been located and arrested.
Daryl Taylor, 33, of no-fixed-abode but from the Ipswich area, absconded from police officers whilst under arrest on Sunday 11 August.
A police operation took place in Rendlesham shortly before 7pm this evening, Wednesday 14 August, where he was arrested by officers from Suffolk Constabulary’s Police Support Unit, Sentinel Team, local officers and Roads and Armed Policing Team. Additional support was provided by the National Police Air Service.
Two other men were arrested alongside Taylor on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All three were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation centre for questioning, where they currently remain.
Superintendent Andy Martin said: “I want to thank the officers and staff involved in arresting Daryl Taylor this evening for their unwavering and relentless efforts in locating him.
“It is right and proper that he now serves the term of his recall and be presented to the courts on the charges against him.”

“We are robustly pursuing all enquiries to promptly bring those persons to justice.
