Police arrested a man yesterday in connection with modern slavery offences linked to an address in Bury St Edmunds.
Yesterday (Thur 11 April) officers executed a warrant at a Summer Health Chinese Massage and Beauty at St Olaves Precinct in Bury St Edmunds in relation to suspected Modern Slavery Act offences.
Two female foreign nationals were present at the site and safeguarded. One of the pair was also arrested for immigration offences.
A further warrant was also executed at an address in Leicester and a 37 year old male was arrested on suspicion of slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour under the Modern Slavery Act. He was taken to custody for questioning and was bailed to return to Bury St Edmunds on 11 July pending ongoing investigations.
