A man from Lowestoft has been jailed for three years for robbery and two counts of actual bodily harm.
Jonathan Quinn, aged 42 and from Denmark Road in Lowestoft was jailed for three years at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday 4 September following his guilty plea.
His sentence follows an incident on 28 October 2022 in the flat of a male victim, aged in his early 60s, where the court heard how Quinn had struck the victim, a male known to him over the head with a frying pan and then asked for the victim’s phone and bank card. Once Quinn had fallen asleep in the flat the victim fled the address and withdrew the last of his money and cancelled his bank card. The two males were known to each other.
Following police enquires, Quinn was arrested the following day and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was subsequently charged with robbery and two counts of actual bodily harm against the same victim. At court he pleaded guilty to all three offences. He was sentenced to 32 months for the robbery and four months for the two cases of ABH, totalling three years.
Investigating officer DC Rachel Adams said: “This was a nasty case where Quinn caused some serious injuries to the victim including a broken nose , burnt fingers and broken arm and a number of other visible facial injuries. Quinn is a prolific offender and who the victim had known for around three years and frequently made aggressive threats to him.”
