A man has been jailed after being found guilty of a stabbing incident in Felixstowe.
Jamie Lepicq, aged 44 and from Hall Field of Felixstowe was sentenced on Friday 15 September at Ipswich Crown Court of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was jailed for 10 years. If follows a trial earlier this year where he was found guilty.
It follows an incident on Princes Road in Felixstowe on January 9 2023 where the victim, a male aged in his 40s, was asleep in bed with a woman.
Lepicq entered the property through the front door and came into the bedroom. The woman was thrown to the floor and as the male victim jumped out of bed to help her he was stabbed by a kitchen knife. He sustained wounds to his arm and head and was also hit with a hammer in the face causing two broken teeth. The court heard how the victim and Lepicq and the victim were previously known to each other.
Later the same day, Leppicq was arrested and subsequently charged with the incident. During the hearing the judge ruled he was a dangerous offender and therefore imposed an extended sentence – 10 years custodial plus five years extended.
Det Sgt Jack Briggs said: “The sentence passed and the comments made by the Judge in court, against Lepicq take account of the danger that he poses to both the victim and the public. It highlights that knife crime is a matter that will be dealt with robustly by the court and has no place here in Suffolk.”
