Police have charged a man after an attempted robbery in Ipswich.
It happened yesterday (Thurs 21 December) at about 6.10am at the Premier Store on Reynolds Road.
A male entered the shop and filled his pockets with items, threatening the shop worker and damaging the shop door before fleeing the scene. The staff member was unhurt.
Police later the same day arrested a man and he was taken into custody for questioning.
55 year old Mark Ely of Milton Street in Ipswich was charged with attempted robbery, two counts of theft, one count of criminal damage and one count of possession of cannabis.
He was remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning (Fri 22 December)
