Two arrested following Ipswich assault

Two people have been arrested following an assault in Ipswich. 

Police were called to Wherstead Road shortly before 6pm yesterday, Wednesday 20 October, to reports of a serious assault after an altercation involving two men and two women near Sinclair Road.

A 36-year-old man sustained a stab wound to his arm. He was taken to hospital for treatment, however his injuries are not thought to be life changing or life threatening at this stage.

A 45-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both from Ipswich, have been arrested on suspicion of assault causing GBH and were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they remain.

Officers are continuing enquiries, however it is believed to have been an incident where the parties are known to each other.

Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, who may have been in the area between 5:45pm and 6:15pm who saw suspicious people or behaviour, or who may have been driving in the area at the times stated and have dash cam footage to contact Ipswich CID quoting crime number 37/58844/21 via
