Theft of topiary trees – Newmarket


Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft of 24 topiary shrubs in Newmarket.

It took place on Exning Road in the town at some point overnight from 5pm on Friday 19 February and  Saturday 20 February at 930am. (crime reference 37/8883/21).They were unplanted and each are valued at about £300 each and were taken from a housing development called Cala Homes.

It follows an earlier theft of eight other topiary shrubs that took place at some point between Monday 15 February at 5.45pm and Tuesday 16 February at 9.30am (37/7983/21).

Anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour or knows of the whereabouts of the trees stolen or has been offered them for sale in suspicious circumstances should contact Suffolk police, quoting the relevant crime number.
