Sproughton – Appeal for information after objects thrown from bridge

Police are appealing for witnesses or information after objects were thrown onto a moving lorry in Sproughton.

The incident occurred shortly before 11.50am today, Wednesday 4 August, eastbound on the A14.

At around the time stated, a group of young males were witnessed throwing unknown objects, believed to be large stones, onto a lorry as it passed under the bridge, causing the windscreen to smash. Another two objects also hit the body work.

The suspects are described as being four or five young, white males. One male was wearing a light blue hoody with white or grey on the hood. Another male was wearing a dark hoody and two of the other males had brown hair. A possible fifth male could not be clearly seen.

Officers attended the scene, but the group of males could not be located.

Officers are reminding members of the public that throwing objects at vehicles is a criminal offence, capable of causing damage and injury.

Police are also urging drivers to report such incidents as soon as possible with the location of travel and with as much detail as possible to assist with enquiries.
