Serious assault in Ipswich - man charged

Police have charged a man in connection with a serious assault in Ipswich.
 
Officers were called to an incident on Tuesday evening (28 July) at about 8.20pm at a property on London Road after an altercation between two males within a flat.
 
IT was reported a male had attacked another male, aged 36, with a knife causing a six to eight cm cut to the head. A 31 year old woman in the flat also sustained a cut to the top of her right eye. Both victims are understood to be known to the victim.
 
Officers arrested a man in connection with the incident on suspicion of assault and he was taken to Marltesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
 
Colin Davey aged 36 and of no fixed abode was charged with section 18 unlawful wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and causing actual bodily harm. He was remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning at 10am (Thursday 30 July)
