Saxmundham – Appeal after stolen car is involved in collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a stolen vehicle was involved in a fail to stop road traffic collision.

It is reported that sometime between Saturday 29 May and Tuesday 1 June, a blue Ford Focus car displaying registration mark KC57 MOA, parked on St Johns Road Saxmundham, was stolen.

Police were called at around 4:50pm on 1 June to a two vehicle collision on the A12 at Saxmundham involving the Ford Focus and a BMW 435D car. No injuries were reported.

The driver of the Ford Focus failed to stop at the scene of the collision but the vehicle was located a short time later on Heron Road, Saxmundham.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anybody with any information regarding the theft of the vehicle to contact police. Also, anyone who witnessed the collision, or who was driving in the area at the relevant time and has dash-cam footage are asked to contact Suffolk Police, quoting reference 28816/21
