Robbery - Great Cornard

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that took place in Great Cornard.

It happened last night (Sunday 5 December) at about 7.10pm at McColls in Applegate Mews.

Three males, wearing balaclavas entered the premises and holding a metal bar, a screwdriver and a knife and demanded money.

In the process a male staff member was assaulted before they stole quantities of cash and tobacco and left the scene in a vehicle. This is described as a dark coloured estate car, possibly an Audi or Vauxhall. The victim, aged in his 40s was taken to hospital for treatment to suspected concussion

On leaving the scene one of the suspects pushed a witnesses and threatened them with a knife demanding their phone. The offender then ran off without taking it with no further threat or force used..

Enquiries into the incident are on-going and anyone who witnessed the incident saw any suspicious behaviour at around the time of the incident or knows who was responsible should contact Bury St
