Man jailed for Lowestoft robbery


A man has been jailed for robbery in Lowestoft.
It follows an incident at about 11.20pm on 9 June this year on Yarmouth Road where a 17 year old male had his mountain bike, his i-phone, his ear pods, his bag and contents including cards taken, totalling £2000 in terms of value During the incident the victim produced a screwdriver and pressed it against his chest and against his neck. The victim was not physically injured.

A 32 year old male was arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of robbery and was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.

32 year old Nicholas Everett of London Road South in Lowestoft was charged with robbery and possession of offensive weapon. On 5 October he was sentenced to four years in jail at Ipswich Crown Court. During the court hearing he also asked for a robbery in Saxmundham in May 2020 to be taken into consideration. In this incident a mountain bike was stolen from Station Approach in the town with a screwdriver again used to threaten the father of the victim.
