Man charged with burglary – Ipswich

Police have charged a man in connection with a series of crimes in Ipswich.

It follows an incident on Saturday 11 September at some point between 3am and 645am on Shrubland Avenue in the town.

A male awoke to find a series of notifications on his camera doorbell and found that his wife’s handbag and car keys were missing. He then saw their vehicle, an Audi A1 being driven off from the driveway.

Police enquiries prompted them to make an arrest on Sunday 12 September of a male, aged 20, on suspicion of burglary and he was taken to Marltesham Heath Police investigation Centre for questioning.

20 year old Connor Roache of Spinner Close in Ipswich was charged with burglary and theft at Shrubland Avenue and five counts of attempted burglary that all took place on Sproughton Road on 10 September and two counts of interference of vehicles.

He is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today (Monday 13 Sept).
