Man arrested after Beccles assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault that took place in Beccles.

 It happened on Sunday 30 August at just after 8pm outside the King’s Head public house on New Market.The male victim, aged in his 30s was walking out of the beer garden and was followed by a man. The suspect then struck him in the face with a glass. The victim received treatment at the James Paget hospital.

A 32 year old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries to answer on 28 September.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who have not already spoken to police to come forward who may have witnessed what happened or who may have filmed the incident on their mobile phone. Any witnesses should quote crime reference 37/50532/20.
