Ipswich man charged with multiple theft offences

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of thefts in the Ipswich and Woodbridge area.

Officers arrested a male on Saturday 14 November on suspicion of theft and he was taken to Marltesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Noel Clarke, aged 50 and of Bonnington Road in Ipswich was subsequently charged with 17 counts of theft from shops, including eight incidents of thefts of charity boxes from shops and one of attempted theft of a charity box.

He appeared at Ipswich Magistrates Court earlier today (Mon 16 November) where he was remanded to appear again before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday 14 December.
