Ipswich – Body of man recovered from River Orwell update
Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body in the River Orwell can confirm that the death remains unexplained but is not being treated as suspicious.
Police were called at 1.15pm on Saturday 24 October, after the body was discovered in the river by the Orwell Bridge.
Next of kin have been made aware and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
The incident is not being linked to another reported incident on Tuesday 29 September, when two people were witnessed on the bridge.

Police are appealing for witnesses or information after the body of a man was found in the River Orwell in Ipswich.
Officers were called at 1.15pm this afternoon, Saturday 24 October, after a body was spotted in the river by the Orwell Bridge by a crew member on a boat.
Police, firefighters, paramedics and HM Coastguard were in attendance, with HM Coastguard recovering the body of a man from the river.
The death is being treated as unexplained at this time, enquiries are continuing.
