Ipswich body found - update

Police can confirm that the death of a man in Ipswich is being treated as not suspicious.

Officers were called at 5.50am this morning, Thursday 23 July, by the East of England Ambulance Service after a man was found unresponsive in Carolbrook Road near to the entrance of Ellenbrook Open Space by a member of the public.

Despite the efforts of a member of the public and paramedics the man, thought to be aged in his 40s, was sadly declared dead at the scene. 

Police will prepare a file for the coroner in relation to the death of the male, which remains unexplained but not suspicious.

A police cordon at the scene has now been lifted.

Police are appealing for witnesses or information after the body of a man was found near to the entrance of Ellenbrook Open Space in Ipswich.

Officers were called at 5.50am this morning, Thursday 23 July, by the East of England Ambulance Service after a man was found unresponsive in Carolbrook Road by a member of the public.

Despite the efforts of a member of the public and paramedics, the man was sadly declared dead at the scene.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time, enquiries are continuing.

A police cordon is in place while investigations are carried out.
