Haverhill money laundering arrests

Police have arrested two people in Haverhill in connection with money laundering and other offences.

Officers had reason to stop a male and woman on The Causeway on Saturday 4 July.

Following a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act a large amount of what is suspected to be crack cocaine, around £1500 in cash and a knife and a knuckle duster were all recovered from a vehicle.

A 30 year old male was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, money laundering and possession of offensive weapons and theft of a motor vehicle, while a 31 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

Both were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and were subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.
