Great Ashfield - serious single vehicle collision appeal
Published:
Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious single vehicle road traffic collision near Elmswell.
Officers were called at 5:20pm yesterday, Tuesday 5 September, to reports that a motorbike travelling along Elmswell Road in Great Ashfield had left the road and collided with the railings on the verge.
Police, ambulance crew, an air ambulance and fire service were all in attendance to the scene.
The motorcyclist – a man aged in his 20s – was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s hospital having sustained serious injuries.
The road was blocked in both directions whilst emergency services attended to the collision. It reopened at approximately 10:50pm.
Police are keen to hear from any witnesses to the collision and any motorists travelling in the area with dash cam are asked to check their footage.
Officers would particularly like to trace the driver of a small red car which was captured on CCTV travelling towards Badwell Ash around the time of the incident, who may have witnessed the collision or be able to assist with enquiries.
