Four Ipswich drug dealers jailed for 11 years

Footage of the moment members of an Ipswich based drug dealing gang were arrested and subsequently jailed for 11 years can now be viewed.
The four, Oleg Asenov aged 26 and of Mimas Way; Katrin Sukalinska aged 31 of Mimas Way in Ipswich; 27 year old Radostin Butsov of Mimas Way; and Aleksander Borisov, age 26 of Alexandra Drive, Surbiton were jailed on Friday 14 September at Ipswich Crown Court.
They were jailed as follows: Asenov for 33 months, Sukalinska was jailed for 27 months; Butsov was jailed for three years and Borisov was jailed for three years and two months
A fifth individual Gergana Malamova, aged 24 and of Mimas Way in Ipswich will be sentenced at a later date
Asenov pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a class A drug (cocaine) between 1st September 2022 and 16th September 2022
Suklinska pleaded guilty to being concerned in supplying a class A drug (cocaine) between 1st September 2022 and 16th September 2022
Butsov pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a class A drug (cocaine) and possession of criminal property (cash) on 19th September 2022
Malamova and Borisov pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a class A drug (cocaine) on 19th September 2022.
Borisov pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a class A drug (cocaine) on 19th September 2022 and being concerned in supplying a class A drug (cocaine) between 28th August 2022 to 20th September 2022.

On 30 August 2022 police had reason to stop a car on St Helen’s Street in Ipswich and a search of the car recovered multiple bags of cocaine and £480 in cash. The driver, Butsov, was arrested.. A second incident on 16 September on the A1214 at Copdock saw police stop a car and the occupant Sukalinska was found to be in possession of large amounts of cash totalling nearly £1500. Examination of her mobile phone were consistent in the supply of cocaine. A search of her property at Mimas Way recovered further large quantities of cash, around 15 bags containing cocaine. Sukalinska and Asenov were both arrested.
On 19 September police stopped a car near to Mimas Way being driven by Gergana Malamova and when the car was searched police recovered 14 bags of white powder and he was arrested. On 26 September police conducted a search of Alexandria Drive, Borisov’s property, with 10 bags of cocaine and scales recovered.
After a search of Malamova’s phone police found video footage that showed her pointing to a broken piece of concrete at the base of a wall in the area of the A1071 at Hintlesham. Officers made enquiries and from the location at Hintlesham recovered a cigarette packet hidden in a hole a that contained multiple bags of white powder, namely cocaine.

Sgt Dave Logan from the Sentinel team said: “This was some excellent proactive policing by the South Sentinel team. Our determination to disrupt organised crime is clear, we kept targeting those involved to build the bigger picture. The examination of the find at Hintlesham led to forensics hits on other members of the conspiracy and secured the vital evidence we needed to build a case against the group.
“Working closing with DC James Lait from the Serious Crime Disruption Team, this sophisticated and well organised criminal operation was meticulously evidenced to the courts to secure guilty pleas. This group were determined to sell on the streets of Ipswich bringing misery to residents and vulnerable people. We have taken apart their business, disrupted their criminal activity and secured convictions against all offenders involved.”
