Drug arrest and charge in Sudbury

Police have arrested and charged a woman following an incident in Sudbury on Friday 3 July.

Police received intelligence of a male suspect wanted on a prison recall being located in a property on Newton Road in the town. On attending the premises and whilst conducting the arrest of the male, officers conducted a search of a woman. Following the search a quantity of suspected cocaine was recovered from her. 

She was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs. In the process of the arrest she also assaulted a female police officer by allegedly punching her in the eye casing bruising and swelling.   
She was subsequently further arrested on suspicion of assault on an police officer. She was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police  Investigation Centre for questioning.

30 year old Rachel Ogilvie of Cavendish Way was subsequrntly charged with assaulting a police officer and possession of a class A drug. 

She was released on bail to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on 1 September at 1.15pm.
