Bury St Edmunds – Four arrests made

Police have arrested four people in connection with drug offences in Bury St Edmunds.
Officers yesterday (Thurs 4 August) had reason to stop a vehicle on Acacia Avenue. Three males were arrested at the scene and a fourth male was arrested at a nearby address.
A search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of suspected cannabis, as well as cash and other items of drug paraphernalia.
A section 32 search under the Misuse of Drugs Act was conducted on the property where the fourth male was arrested and a large quantity of cash thought to be in the region of £20,000 and over 90gms of suspected cannabis, was found in his bedroom. Two weapons, namely a lock knife and a sword were also found in the property.
A 19 year old, 22 year old and a 20 year old were all arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying drugs. A 21 year old was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying drugs, on suspicion of money laundering and on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs. They were all taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning where they remain.
